The Swiss Association of Business Centers, VSBC, was founded in 1992, currently has 20 members and is represented in approximately 15 Swiss cities. The size of the member companies varies significantly, from one office, which exclusively offers office services up to several organisational units featuring more than 100 offices. The association’s members provide a total of 720 office rooms and 1,350 workstations on an overall area of 31,000 m² of office space. They employ 160 members of staff and, on average, provide services to around an equal share of national and international customers from all areas of the service sector. Apart from letting furnished offices (hour/day/month/year) that are connected to a modern infrastructure, the members are active in the following business areas: translations, telephone marketing, training, conference and seminar services, corporate consultancy, accounting, tax and finance consultancy, as well as hotel and EDP services. VSBC places great value on uniform guidelines and quality. Thus, it has, for example, in coordination with the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA, developed a code of conduct for dealing with contractual partners. Also, VSBC has set minimum quality requirements for office business centers that a member must fulfil to be able to join the association.
